With six inches of snow on the ground in Fresno County last weekend, a special holiday tree was cut down, and today it was delivered to State Street in Santa Barbara. Crews trimmed some of the lower limbs and a giant crane lifted it into place. It will be decorated with low power use lights. The tree is donated annually by Southern California Edison.
"They know exactly what's needed and they find just the right tree and cut it down and deliver it. It takes about ten hours to drive down here and we were worried about the snow at Shaver Lake this weekend and luckily they got out of there so we're happy to have it," said Edison spokesperson Patricia Bartoli-Wible.
The tree is located on State Street near the Arlington Theater.
