As part of the Downtown Organization’s commitment to excellence and on-going efforts on the behalf of its members, we’re pleased to offer exciting cooperative advertising opportunities in the four quarterly issues of Food & Home magazine. “A Perfect Day Downtown” features DO advertisers in a story describing what to see, taste and find in Downtown Santa Barbara. Copy is written by a professional writer and focuses on things to do, where to shop and dine, and how to spend the “perfect day” downtown.

Why Food & Home? This publication is a quarterly, top-quality, glossy, community magazine that is direct mailed to over 35,000 homes in the Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito, Santa Ynez, Carpinteria, and Ojai. It features many of the unique elements that comprise the Santa Barbara lifestyle focusing on food, wine and home news. We feel that downtown Santa Barbara represents these elements and the magazine targets the local customer. Over 97% of readers are homeowners, 95% carry credit cards, 72% drink wine with dinner, 83% dine out more than two times per week, and 79% are women. The magazine also offers the ability to reach a combined household income of over $1.5 billion as well as having a longer shelf-life than traditional direct mail products.

The cost of this promotion is being partially underwritten by a grant to promote downtown cultural and historic sites. Therefore, the cost to individual participants is significantly less than it would otherwise need to be. A bold type business mention in the “perfect day” copy (including address, phone number and up to 50 words) is only $110. A photo (to be supplied by the advertiser) plus the bold type business mention is only $325. Additionally, if you choose to sign an advertising contract or upgrade your existing contract with Food and Home, the cost of the Perfect Day Downtown ad will be applied towards that contract.

Participation is limited to a total of 10 advertisers (including 6 photo ads) per issue. Businesses will be selected based on the earliest responses and the appropriate mix. After the allotment of participants is full, other interested businesses will have first opportunity to be included in the next issue.
